Have you ever considered a career in teaching and learning or are you an experienced lecturer looking for a change?    If so, Harper Adams University is looking for a new Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our Land and Property Management team.  Most of our students are working towards an exciting career as a rural practice chartered surveyor or other areas of rural land management, at a time when we are dealing with a complex world of competing land use demands. We are therefore currently looking for expertise in one or more of the following areas: the environment; agricultural systems; rural geography or rural land use policy, although other areas of sustainable land management would be considered.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with ambition to work with and inspire the next generation, to become an integral part of our academic team. Relevant professional experience will be just as valuable as academic experience and so if you are not currently an academic but have considered a career in teaching and learning, now might be the time to join us. We can support you through your teaching qualification to help ensure that you play a key role in the delivery of a variety of modules for apprenticeship, undergraduate and postgraduate students.  If you already have academic experience and want to expand your experience at rural land management this opportunity could provide you with the opportunity to develop your own research and academic interests at a time when rural land management is going through some significant changes and competing demands.

If you have any queries or questions or for an informal discussion please contact Emma Pierce-Jenkins (Associate Head of Department) via email at  or Mark Simcock (Course Manager) at
