As the Harper and Keele Veterinary School grows, we are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced veterinary surgeon to lead in this key area of the curriculum. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the BVetMS programme team, having primary responsibility for the professional development of veterinary students within the foundation phase of the BVetMS programme. The appointee will design and implement contemporary and holistic learning & teaching approaches to developing veterinary professionalism, thereby contributing significantly to the development and implementation of a new veterinary curriculum that is both innovative in its design and inclusive in its delivery.
The appointee will be expected to deliver face-to-face lectures and tutorials on both the Harper Adams and Keele University sites, regardless of whichever site becomes their nominal home base, and also to participate in streamed lectures and lecture capture.
A candidate who does not currently have a teaching qualification will be supported to achieve at least a postgraduate certificate in higher education within three years of employment.
The Harper & Keele Vet School is a joint venture between Harper Adams and Keele Universities, bringing together two distinctive institutions with a track record of excellence in teaching and student experience to provide an exciting opportunity for veterinary students to train, making use of resources at each campus and at partner sites including multiple vet practices and farms.
This role will require regular travel between Keele University and Harper Adams University campuses.
The School is committed to operating agile working practices wherever possible.
Harper Adams University and Keele University value equality and diversity across their workforce and are committed to ensuring our staff community is reflective of the diversity of our student population. In support of these commitments the School welcomes applications from individuals of Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds for all roles.
